What is Forever Care and what is your care philosophy?

At Forever Care, we operate on a home-first, GP-coordinated philosophy. Our mission is to provide professional, clinically managed healthcare services that seamlessly integrate into our clients' existing routines. We aim to preserve your independence, support your physical wellness, and keep you closely connected to your West Coast community. We serve as the vital, professionally managed intermediate layer between acute hospital care, independent retirement living, and long-term residential care.

Where are your services located?

Our primary clinical offices and on-site sub-acute services are based at the beautiful Villa Del Mare Estate in Langebaan. Our primary geographic catchment is Langebaan, with a secondary catchment covering Vredenburg and Saldanha. Our extended care corridor also reaches out to Langebaanweg, Hopefield, St Helena Bay, and Paternoster.

Who oversees the clinical care at Forever Care?

All of our daily nursing, home visits, and clinic procedures are managed and conducted by South African Nursing Council (SANC) registered Professional Nurses (RPNs) and Staff Nurses (RSNs) operating strictly within their regulated scopes of practice under Sections 30, 31, and 43 of the Nursing Act [No. 33 of 2005].

Are your step-down and respite care facilities fully registered?

Our clinic, specialised wound care, and home nursing services are fully active. Our specialised 6-bed sub-acute residential facility, step-down care, and short-term respite care services are currently operating under a "Pending Registration" status with the Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness and the Department of Social Development while we finalise our provincial facility licensing.

Which services are provided by nurses, and which are provided by doctors?

For patient safety and strict regulatory compliance, we maintain a clear division between nurse-led care and doctor-led clinical services:

Nurse-Led Services: Home nursing visits, geriatric frail support, chronic wound care, baby growth monitoring, basic diagnostics (BP, glucose, cholesterol), urinary catheterizations, and basic clinical bedside therapies.

Doctor-Led Services: All advanced medical consultations, occupational health screenings, invasive clinical procedures (like stitches or joint support), and medical aesthetics are provided strictly and directly by Dr. Marinus Appelgryn-Siebert Inc. (Registered General Practitioner / Medical Practice). These advanced services fall outside the scope of independent nursing and are managed by licensed medical practitioners or performed under their direct on-site supervision.

Can I get my chronic diseases screened at your clinic?

Yes. We offer a comprehensive, proactive Chronic Screening at our clinic, prior booking make, which includes:

Blood Pressure (BP) monitoring

Cholesterol screening

Blood Glucose testing

Haemoglobin (Hb) testing

Rapid Urine testing If your screening results show any parameters of concern, our nursing team will coordinate an immediate, direct referral to your general practitioner or our partner GP for formal medical assessment and treatment planning.

Yes, we provide baby growth and development monitoring (including regular weighing, head circumference measurements, and milestone tracking), pediatric deworming, and parent health education.

Please Note: To maintain professional boundaries, we do not provide "basic pediatric consultations" (as our nurses are not medical doctors) nor do we offer weight/body fat management for children. All pediatric patients requiring clinical medical care or diagnosis are referred directly to a registered medical practitioner.

Is State-supplied stock available for family planning and vaccinations?

Yes. For family planning (contraceptive injections, oral pills, and Implanon implant insertions) and childhood immunizations, State Stock is available at our clinic, subject to government stock and supply availability.
